Brian Walton is a Conservative Republican
running for Ohio State Senate - District 10, which includes all of Greene, Clark, and Madison County.
Why am I running? Because like everyone else, I am fed up with the ineptness of our elected officials. It is important that we get back to the basics. The ideas and principles that made our state and nation so great. My main focus as your senator will be: Family, Education, and BRAC.

"I am not a puppet, I am not a pawn, I am not here for someones else's profit. What I am, is a Patriot, leading the charge to take back our great state and nation. If you are tired of career politicians controlling our government, I am asking for your support."

Getting back to the basics
Pass the Heartbeat Bill. Life is a fundamental right protected by the U.S. Constitution. As a nation, throughout our history, we have persecuted a segment of our population. It is time our unborn get the recognition and protection that all these other groups have been granted.
Presumption of Shared Parenting. There is a movement in other states and countries to have a statutory presumption of shared parenting. What this means is that in the case of divorce, the law will automatically presume that both parents will share legal and physical custody, unless one parent is found unfit. The Supreme Court has ruled that it is a fundamental right to raise your children absent a finding of being an unfit parent. However, states violate this ruling every single day in family court.
Repeal Common Core. The problem with our education system was not the curriculum. It was the decline of the family unit, which led to a decline in personal accountability, personal responsibility, and work ethic. We do not need to change the standards, we do not need to change how to add 1+1, we need to hold students and families accountable for themselves and teach the next generation how to be self-sufficient.
According to some sources the next round of Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) is slated for 2017. Wright-Patterson AFB (WPAFB) has a $4B annual impact on the surrounding areas. I have been involved with WPAFB as active duty and reserve military, civil service government employee, and as a defense contractor. As your next State Senator, I will ensure the state does it’s part in ensuring that WPAFB does not end up on the BRAC chopping block.
In the military there is a principle known as KISS, or Keep It Simple Stupid. Our elected officials, for too long, have been treating the symptoms instead of the cause. With your support, I will bring the KISS principle back to Columbus by focusing on Family, Education, and BRAC.
